How You Can Help End Book Famine In Africa? post thumbnail

In 2006 and 2010 respectively, I embarked on 20-foot and 40-foot containers of books to the then Delta State Polytechnic Ozoro, and then College of Theology and Seminary, I rri at Isoko North and Isoko South Local Government area of Delta State, Nigeria. Books are a rare commodity in the hands of school-age students in most parts of the African Continent because schools are underfunded to acquire books and other learning materials that could meet students’ learning needs.

The book project is taking a different dimension this year. Math and Science Academy, Inc., is collaborating with Books for Africa, to execute the book project. Please, join this effort with financial support to place a book in the hands of children at the elementary and secondary school level at Aradhe community in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, Nigeria.

During my November visit to Nigeria, community leaders were consulted about the shared responsibility of this project and they agreed to collaborate with the State Department of Education for a duty-free delivery upon arrival in Lagos, Nigeria.

A fourteen-thousand-dollar ($14,000) quote for academic sorted books and laptops of a 40-foot container has been given by Books for Africa. Whether students are in the classroom or under a tree, the goal is to put books in their front. Your financial support will go a long way to redirect students from social vices to meaningful life goals of career and college-mindedness.

Kindly make all checks payable to Math and Science Academy with a memo: “Books for Aradhe”.  For Wire, the Bank is Truist Bank, Routing #: 061113415 and Account number is 1110024222563. Your donation is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
