Erica L. Woodford Seeks Reelection As Bibb Superior Court Clerk post thumbnail

Today, Erica L. Woodford, Esq. announces the launch of her campaign to seek reelection as the Superior Court Clerk of Bibb County, Georgia. Ms. Woodford was first elected as Clerk of Superior Court in 2012, and took office January 1, 2013. Since being elected as Clerk, Ms. Woodford has implemented and improved various court technologies, including but not limited to an automated jury management system, installed an ATM, credit card and online acceptance of payment for fees, child support, and restitution, new case management system, and digitized all land records from 1823 to present. Further, Ms. Woodford has improved office diversity by hiring multilingual staff, speaking Spanish, Hindi, Urdu, and Gujarati. Under the leadership of Ms. Woodford, the Enslaved People Project was launched, in which property deeds conveying humans as slaves was documented, digitized, and made available to the public via searchable platform.

Ms. Woodford is a native of Macon, Georgia. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and African American Studies and a minor in Spanish from Mercer University. She earned her juris doctorate (law) degree from Cumberland School of Law of Samford University. Ms. Woodford has been an attorney for over twenty years. Prior to being elected as Clerk, she operated a private law firm, and served a four year term as a civil court judge and magistrate in Bibb County Civil and Magistrate Courts. Ms. Woodford has also served the community as an adjunct professor, and is a member of several local, state, and national organizations.

Woodford states, “It is my pleasure to serve as the People’s Clerk in my hometown of Macon Bibb County. Over the past 12 years I have had the opportunity to improve customer service, implement technology, and create a more efficient and user-friendly environment for all customers and citizens who utilize our services. I am committed to access to justice for all who enter our doors. I humbly ask for your support, prayers, and vote in the upcoming election so that I may continue the works that I’ve started.”
